Care group leaders, pastors, and ministry coordinators from across the Zamboanga Peninsula Mission territory were brought together in unity for a Mission-wide Care Group Leaders’ Summit on August 17, 2024, at the ZPM Adventist Convention Center. The summit served as a key preparatory event for the upcoming evangelistic campaigns.
This event addresses the need for spiritual revival of care groups in each of the churches emphasizing their vital role in both church growth and the personal spiritual journeys of members. Pastor Klenjay Sajulga, the ZPM NDR-IEL Field Secretary, highlighted the characteristics of an active care group. He also stressed the critical importance of prayer in the revival process, drawing on the wisdom from Ellen G. White, who wrote, “The only method by which you can reach hearts is through prayer” (Evangelism, p. 341) underscoring the spiritual foundation necessary for effective ministry.
One of the highlights of the summit was the breakout session of care group leaders and brethren which they exchanged ideas, sang praises, and united in prayer as a demonstration of what an active care group should be.
Pastor Jerrymil Pamunag, the Vice President- NDR-IEL for the South Western Philippine Union Conference (SwPUC) spoke passionately about finding true satisfaction in God, declaring, “The beginning of satisfaction is seeking God. Only God can satisfy our soul.” His words were a reminder for leaders to seek fulfillment in their spiritual walk as they prepare for the challenges and opportunities of evangelistic work.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment to get involved in care groups and be part of the work of Christ for the advancement of His soon return.
