CALLED TO SERVE, TRAINED TO LEAD: PAC Pathfinder Rigid Camp Equips Youth for God’s Mission

Youth September 12, 2025

The Pathfinder Department of Philippine Advent College Academy (PAC) recently held its Rigid Camp—a transformative three-day experience designed not only to challenge participants physically, but to deepen their spiritual commitment and prepare them for God’s mission.

With heavy bags on their backs and bright smiles on their faces, the Pathfinders entered the campgrounds with hearts full of courage, ready to embrace the journey ahead.

Day 1: A Mission Begins

On August 29, 2025, the PAC Pathfinder Officers arrived at the campsite with unwavering determination. Led by Pr. Zhye Pamunag, PAC Pathfinder Director, and supported by Battalion Commander Joseph Linh Olmilla and the Master Guides of the PAC Chapter, the team came prepared to train the next generation of leaders for God’s work.

The camp officially opened with a bonfire lit by Richard Apelacio. Campers then passed through the symbolic “Yolk of Obedience,” representing discipline, teamwork, respect for leadership, and most importantly, walking with Christ. This meaningful rite marked the beginning of their transformation into Christ-centered leaders.

Day 2: Strengthening Bonds

On the afternoon of August 30, campers participated in team-building activities that emphasized trust, unity, and understanding. These exercises were more than just games—they were lessons in humility, collaboration, and leadership.

Day 3: Testing Endurance and Faith

The final day pushed campers to their limits. Through physically demanding challenges, their endurance and spiritual resolve were tested. Each activity was designed to shape their character and prepare them for the hardships of leadership and service.

Despite exhaustion, the campers pressed on—driven by faith and the desire to serve.

A Triumphant Declaration

“I now announce you as survivors,” declared Pr. Zhye Pamunag, as the campers completed the three-day Rigid Camp. The journey left them with unforgettable memories—etched not just in their minds, but in their hearts. These are memories they will carry as they await Christ’s second coming.

As they returned home with dirty clothes, hoarse voices, and aching bodies, one truth remained: the experience was worth every hardship. True victory, they learned, is not found in comfort—but in perseverance, faith, and the guiding hand of God.

Reflections from the Campers

“Kapoy, pero lingaw.”
“Worth it kaayo, bahalag kapoy.”
“Hell night and camp cookery were the best!”

The Rigid Camp began with a smile—and ended with one. It was a journey of transformation, a testament to the power of faith, and a celebration of youth called to serve and trained to lead.
