ZPM-Wide Publishing Rally Rekindles Passion for Literature Evangelism

The Zamboanga Peninsula Mission (ZPM) held a spiritually uplifting ZPM-Wide Publishing Rally at the Lakewood Adventist Church in Zamboanga del Sur from September 26 to 28, 2025. With the theme “Faithful to the Word, Committed to Serve,” the gathering became a stirring reminder of the continuing importance of literature evangelism in the mission of the church. Under the leadership of ZPM Publishing Director Pastor Samuel J. Labag, the rally reignited passion for bringing gospel literature into homes and communities.

Throughout the event, participants were inspired by the enduring vision of the Adventist pioneers, who believed that the printed page could reach distant places and transform lives long after it left their hands. The message that “books are sources of hope and inspiration” echoed across the three-day rally, uniting literature evangelists, local church leaders, and members in their shared mission to spread truth-filled literature.

Central to the gathering was the message of Christ in Matthew 20:28: “Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” This verse became the guiding light of the rally, calling each believer to embrace a life of service patterned after Jesus. The participants were reminded that literature evangelism is not just about distributing reading materials, but about reflecting Christ’s selfless love through mission and dedication.

One of the highlights of the rally was the Sabbath Divine Service message delivered by Pastor Elmer Abesta, Publishing Director of the Southwestern Philippine Union Conference (SWPUC). Speaking with conviction, he declared, “When the publishing work is strong, then the church will grow and go forward.” His message deeply moved the congregation, emphasizing that literature evangelism is a powerful arm of spreading the everlasting gospel. He challenged the church to continue valuing and strengthening the publishing ministry to bring about growth, revival, and transformation.

On Sabbath afternoon, heartfelt testimonies brought the message even closer to home. Literature evangelists and church members shared stories of answered prayers, changed lives, and communities reached through the written word. These experiences served as living proof that God continues to work mightily through publishing. The program culminated in a moving Commitment Service where participants raised their hands in renewed dedication to the mission.

More than an event, the ZPM-Wide Publishing Rally became a call to action and revival. As Pastor Labag powerfully affirmed, “Books are not just pages with ink; they are seeds of hope and instruments of salvation.” With renewed passion and strengthened conviction, participants left ready to carry messages of hope, healing, and salvation to a world in need—faithful to the Word, committed to serve, and eager to lead more souls to Christ.
