Zamboanga Peninsula Mission Launches Innovative Virtual Church System

Uncategorized March 4, 2024

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – In a groundbreaking initiative, the Communications Department of Zamboanga Peninsula Mission (ZPM) has set sail into uncharted waters, aiming to seamlessly integrate its 350 churches into the virtual realm. This ambitious project seeks to introduce these churches to the world via the internet, making information accessible with just a single click.

The newly developed system allows users to explore key highlights of any ZPM church virtually. Here’s what you can discover with few simple clicks: a.) Location Integration: Each church’s location is seamlessly integrated into Google Maps, enabling visitors to pinpoint their desired church effortlessly. b.) Brief History: Delve into the rich history of each church, tracing its roots and understanding its significance within the community. c.) Contributions to Ministry and Mission: Learn about the impactful contributions made by each church to ZPM’s ministry and mission. And d.) Inspiring Stories: Discover heartwarming and inspiring stories from specific churches, showcasing acts of hope, fortitude, and triumph.

The genesis of this project lies in the need to cater to Adventist visitors arriving in Mindanao via Zamboanga. These visitors hail from neighboring countries such as Brunei, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the BASULTA region (Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi). With just a few clicks on their gadgets, they can now find answers to their queries about ZPM churches.

Rufmer Sam Labag, Hope Channel Manager and Systems Developer, recently conducted a successful pilot test of the system. The results were promising, indicating that this innovative approach could be a game-changer for Zamboanga Peninsula Mission. To further enhance the project, the Communications Department has rallied writers from across ZPM to craft compelling narratives of hope, resilience, and victory. As the virtual church doors swing open, ZPM invites the world to explore its vibrant congregations, connect with their stories, and be inspired by the unwavering faith of its members.
