More than 1,400 youth campers from various districts gathered in Tiayon, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay for the ZPM-wide Friendship Camp 2026, carrying this year’s theme, “KONEK: Keeping Outreach Near Every Community.” The event served as a meaningful platform for spiritual growth, fellowship, and unity among young people committed to strengthening their faith and building Christ-centered relationships.

Throughout the entire camp, participants engaged in worship services, inspirational messages, team-building activities, and fellowship sessions that encouraged both personal spiritual development and stronger connections with fellow campers. The atmosphere was filled with prayers, testimonies, shared experiences, and memorable moments that left a lasting impact on the participants.

One of the most significant highlights of KONEK 2026 was the baptism of more than 100 individuals who publicly dedicated their lives to God. Their decision reflected the camp’s deeper mission of inspiring spiritual renewal and encouraging the youth to live a life centered on faith and service.

One baptized camper, Edrian Bation, shared that:
“The Friendship Camp became one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. Although the week was physically exhausting and personally challenging, my experience allowed me to develop genuine friendships and deepen my relationship with God. Serving as a Unit Captain also taught me valuable lessons in leadership, patience, and dependence on God’s strength. I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of the event, and my baptism was a life-changing decision.”

The camp also featured various physically demanding activities that tested the participants’ endurance, teamwork, and cooperation. Despite muddy pathways, heavy rain, limited water supply, and exhausting schedules, campers continued to support and encourage one another. These challenges became opportunities to strengthen unity, resilience, and camaraderie among the youth.

Organizers emphasized that the theme “KONEK” goes beyond programs and gatherings. It represents the importance of building genuine relationships, serving communities, and bringing hope closer to people through faith and compassion. The camp encouraged every participant to become an instrument of kindness, leadership, and service within their respective communities.

As ZPM Friendship Camp 2026 concluded, participants left Ipil with renewed faith, strengthened friendships, and a deeper commitment to service. More than just a camp, KONEK 2026 became a testimony of connected hearts united in one mission — to continue sharing God’s love and bringing outreach closer to every community.
