Beyond the Broadcast: Hope Channel ZP Hits the Ground to Feed Hundreds in Bayog

Community Outreach May 11, 2026

BAYOG, ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR — In a powerful demonstration of the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s mission to “know God and make Him known through service,” Hope Channel Zamboanga Peninsula recently transitioned from the broadcast studio to the mission field to celebrate its 6th anniversary.

Partnering with local Adventist congregation, the media ministry extended its reach to the remote areas of Pulang Batu and Dimalinao. This initiative, which successfully provided meals to more than 500 residents, reinforces the Church’s commitment to holistic ministry—addressing physical hunger alongside spiritual needs.

The outreach was made possible through a diverse network of “Kapaglaums” (partners in hope) spanning the globe. Key financial support was spearheaded by Kapaglaum Rufmer and Micai from New Mexico, USA, illustrating the international solidarity of the Adventist community. Local support was equally robust, with contributions from:

  • The Juliano Family: Sir Allan, Ma’am Armina and Ate Jie who traveled a significant distance to provide hands-on assistance.
  • The Entag and Balladares Families: Who provided critical financial backing.
  • Public Servants: Local officials who provided logistical support while choosing to remain anonymous, embodying the spirit of humble service.

In a strategic move to maximize community impact, the feeding program was integrated into the ongoing efforts of the Preswood Medical Team. This partnership reflects the Adventist “Right Arm” philosophy—using health and medical ministry as a means to connect with communities and share the gospel. The Preswood Medical Team conducts year-round missions across the Philippines, providing essential healthcare to underserved populations.

For HCZP this mission represents a core tenet of their identity. While their digital and televised broadcasts reach thousands daily with messages of hope, the ministry believes that true impact is felt when they “feign distance” and step into the fields to meet the needy where they are.

This anniversary celebration serves as a reminder that the work of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Zamboanga Peninsula remains steadfast: to be a “Christ-centered, friendly, and caring” presence that seeks out the vulnerable and offers both tangible relief and the “everlasting gospel”.
