When a Community Runs Together, Faith Grows Stronger

Health December 5, 2025

The morning air of Sindangan pulsed with excitement and determination as 205 runners gathered for a meaningful athletic event—the Fun Run themed “Steps of Faith, Hearts of Praise.” Organized and sponsored by the Sindangan Adventist Mega Church, the activity was more than a celebration of health and wellness; it was a living testimony of faith in action, serving as a fundraising initiative to support the church’s mission and ministerial projects.

Mission in Motion

Under the visionary leadership of Pastor Quirino Alia, the Fun Run became a powerful symbol of the church’s missional heartbeat. By bringing together some of the region’s most active running groups—Salug Runner Squad, Sindangan Active Runners, Kahuda Runners, and many others—the event showcased how unity in purpose can transform ordinary steps into extraordinary acts of service.

Running with Purpose

The run began and concluded at the Sindangan Cultural and Sports Center, where participants first joined in prayer, dedicating their strength and energy to God’s mission. As they set out on the 8-kilometer route, the streets echoed not only with footsteps but also with laughter, encouragement, and camaraderie. Every stride became a metaphor for the Christian journey—pressing forward with perseverance, fueled by faith.

Inclusive and United

To ensure fairness and inclusivity, runners were grouped by age:

  • 20 years old and below
  • 21 to 40 years old
  • 40 years old and above

Both men and women contenders ran with passion, proving that age is no barrier when the heart is driven by purpose. Their participation reflected the church’s vision of inclusivity, where everyone—young and old alike—has a role in advancing God’s work.

Victory Beyond Medals

While medals and finish times brought smiles to many faces, the true victory of the day was the collective effort poured into raising funds for the church’s mission. Every stride taken symbolized a step of faith, and every finish line crossed became an act of praise.

Faith, Fellowship, and Service

The “Steps of Faith, Hearts of Praise” Fun Run was more than just a race—it was a celebration of unity, health, generosity, and the unchanging spirit of a community committed to walking and running together toward God’s mission. Through events like this, the Sindangan Adventist Mega Church continues to embody its ministerial calling: to nurture faith, strengthen fellowship, and extend Christ’s love through service.
