Empowering Education: Adventist Academy-Diplahan Unveils New Dormitory and School Transport

Education June 23, 2025

The Adventist Academy-Diplahan recently celebrated a momentous occasion with the Dedication and Blessing Ceremony of two vital additions to the school’s facilities: a brand-new AUV to serve as the official school transport and a newly constructed 18-room, 70-bed dormitory designed to house the academy’s growing student population.

This significant event was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the brethren from Kauswagan Church, led by Elder Cres Jore and Pastor Rafhnold Alabata. Their commitment and hard work brought these much-needed improvements to fruition, enhancing both the accessibility and living conditions for students of the academy.

The ceremony was graced by esteemed administrators and directors from the Zamboanga Peninsula Mission (ZPM), including Pastor Arnold Sombilon, ZPM President; Pastor Vilmar Mandalupa, Executive Secretary; Pastor Ronald Ramos, Treasurer; and Sir Victor Palin, ZPM Education Director. Their presence highlighted the importance of these new facilities in supporting the mission and vision of Adventist education in the region.

Elder Cres Jore took the opportunity to acknowledge the generous sponsorship of the dormitory by the Swanson Family from the USA—Mother Luz, Son Jon, and Daughter Nicole—whose support was instrumental in bringing the project to completion. Their partnership exemplifies the spirit of global Adventist fellowship and shared commitment to nurturing the next generation.

During the dedication, Sir Victor Palin highlighted the impact of these new services on the community, noting that the availability of reliable transportation and comfortable dormitory accommodations enables parents to confidently send their children to the academy. This development not only supports academic growth but also fosters a safe and nurturing environment for students far from home.

The blessing ceremony was a heartfelt celebration of progress, faith, and community collaboration. The new AUV and dormitory stand as tangible symbols of God’s provision and the collective effort of church members, leaders, and partners working together to advance Christian education and holistic student development at Adventist Academy-Diplahan.

As the students begin to benefit from these new facilities, the academy continues to uphold its commitment to excellence in education, grounded in faith and service, preparing young minds and hearts for a bright and purposeful future.
