More Than Just Games and Friendships– A Life- Changing Encouter at Zone 3 Youth Friendship Camp and Sportfest

Youth June 10, 2025

Tucked away in the serene and quiet beauty of Brgy. Alegria Beach, Baliguian, Zamboanga Del Norte, the 2025 Zone 3 Friendship Camp and Sportfest unfolded like a peaceful chapter of God’s masterpiece. The sound of the waves, the cool breeze, and the simplicity of nature reminded everyone of God’s wonderful creation and His presence all around. It was a place where time seemed to pause, not because of technology or noise—but because God was near.

From May 18 to 24, 268 campers from the districts of Siocon, Sirawai, Baliguian, Gutalac, Labason, Tampilisan, Kalawit, and Titay gathered not just to play games or make new friends, but more importantly, to encounter the Lord.

Despite the challenges—the long, muddy road soaked with constant rain due to construction, and the pouring skies that greeted the campers upon arrival— everyone pressed on with hope and faith. Truly, God was glorified, for in every trial, He showed His hand. Each planned activity continued successfully, with even greater joy and meaning through the test of patience and perseverance.

One of the most unforgettable blessings of the camp was the absence of cellphone signal. What many thought would be a struggle turned into a blessing. With no distractions from the world, every camper gave their full time, attention, and thoughts to the camp and, most of all, to the Lord. Conversations became deeper, relationships became stronger, and everyone’s connection with God grew clearer.

Every day was filled with meaningful lectures and devotionals—from morning to evening. The young hearts listened with interest, asked questions live, and left each session with spiritual truths to carry home. There was joy in learning, not only about teamwork and friendship but most of all, about Jesus Christ and His calling.

The 4:00 AM call to worship each day was not merely a routine, but a sacred moment. Waking up in the quiet stillness to seek God first taught everyone commitment, obedience, and the value of putting God first in everything. These early moments helped set the tone for each day and left a lasting impression on the campers’ hearts.

The 2025 FCAMP in Alegria was not just a camp. It was a spiritual journey—a week that reminded everyone that the most important victory is not in the games we win, but in the hearts we give to Jesus.

As the camp came to an end, more than 20 souls gave their hearts to Jesus through baptism, sealing their encounter with the Lord in a life-changing way.

This was never just about friendship or games—it was a sacred moment where we truly encountered the Lord.
