Transformed Hearts, Renewed Spirits: The Unforgettable Spiritual Retreat of SULADS Tawi-Tawi Cluster

Mission March 27, 2025

In a world where challenges and uncertainties can easily derail us from our purpose, the SULADS Tawi-Tawi Cluster batch 2024-2025 stood strong, united, and determined to reignite their passion for service. Their recent Spiritual Retreat at Panampangan, Tawi-Tawi, was a powerful testament to the transformative power of faith and commitment.

With the theme “Back to B.A.S.I.C.: Believing And Surrendering In Christ,” this retreat was more than just a gathering – it was a journey of renewal, recommitment, and rediscovery. It was a call to return to the basics of their faith, to rekindle their relationship with Jesus, and to seek His guidance in all they do.

The missionaries had faced numerous challenges during their term, from struggles in the field to personal struggles that had weakened their relationship with Jesus. But through this retreat, they were reminded that their service is not just about what they do, but about who they are in Christ.

The retreat featured inspiring messages from guest speakers, including Ma’am Clendelyn Jane Bala-Perez, ZPM AM secretary and a former SULADS missionary. Her message during Divine Worship on the Sabbath was a powerful reminder of the importance of renewing their relationship with Jesus. Sir Michael Perez, a ZPM media worker, delivered a heartfelt commitment message that sealed the missionaries’ recommitment to God’s service.

As the missionaries participated in creative and relevant group discussions, enjoyable team-building activities, and heartfelt sharing of testimonies and miracle stories, something remarkable happened. Hearts were transformed and spirits were renewed.

The event concluded with participants left feeling rejuvenated and committed to their mission in Sulads. The success of this retreat is a testament to God’s provision and the unwavering support from the Sulads office and Zamboanga Peninsula Mission, which made this gathering possible. Empowered and encouraged, the SULADS Tawi-Tawi Cluster batch of 2024-2025 is ready to embrace their journey ahead, believing and surrendering in Christ.

Their story is a powerful reminder that no matter what challenges we face, we always have the opportunity to return to the basics of our faith, to rekindle our relationship with Jesus, and to seek His guidance in all we do. May their journey inspire us to do the same, and may we too experience the transformative power of faith and commitment.
