Mission August 20, 2024

An extraordinary display of communal dedication and generosity unfolded in the heart of Pob. Siocon, leaving an indelible mark on thousands of lives. Engr. Gonzalo Sumayang and his wife, Betsy Sumayang, spearheaded a dual event that seamlessly blended physical healing with spiritual nourishment.

The Three-Day Medical Caravan (July 21-23, 2024)

Over 40 devoted medical professionals—including doctors, nurses, dentists, and health experts—came together to serve the community. Their tireless efforts brought hope and relief to those in need:

Dental Care: A total of 1,600 patients received dental treatments, including cleanings, fillings, extractions, and fluoride applications. Additionally, 100 patients were fitted with dentures, restoring their smiles and confidence.
Circumcision: 139 individuals underwent this essential procedure, promoting health and hygiene.
Minor Surgeries: 35 patients benefited from minor surgical interventions, addressing various health concerns.
Consultations: 1,000 patients received personalized medical advice, emphasizing preventive care.
Optical Services: With compassion, 1,300 individuals underwent eye check-ups and received reading glasses, illuminating their world anew.

Beyond the Physical: Spiritual Outreach (July 26 – August 3, 2024)

Mrs. Sumayang eloquently expressed, “God is amazing; He’s been amazing to me. That’s why I extend the healing ministry of Christ to everyone, everywhere that God sends me.” The couple recognized that addressing physical needs alone falls short; spiritual healing is equally vital.

Nightly Sermons: Pr. Jerry Patalinghug, the esteemed president of the South Western Philippine Union Conference, delivered powerful messages. Guided by the Holy Spirit, these sermons touched hearts and stirred souls.
Lay workers Effort: In addition, the Lay workers who tirelessly provide Bible studies and visits seminarians’ homes, motivate them to attend each nightly reflection.

A seminarian, Rendo Alinsag, said, “I learned that Jesus died to give us salvation. And that we must change our wrong behavior in order to honor the One who saved us. I am grateful that the missionary came here and I was able to hear this message”.

80 Precious Souls: Through this evangelistic effort, 80 individuals accepted Jesus Christ. Their decision transcends the temporal, echoing the eternal promise of hope and redemption.

A Profound Impact

The success of this combined mission affirms the boundless love of our Lord. As instruments of His grace, we reach out to uplift His people—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Together, we heal hearts and touch souls.
