With a small but memorable celebration, the Zamboanga Peninsula Mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church celebrated its 20th anniversary with a short Thanksgiving program, a simple feast, and a get-together of workers during lunch on August 14, 2024. Given the limited funds of the office, the officers decided to focus their resources more on the ongoing programs, activities, and community outreach rather than having a grand celebration. Even though it was a simple celebration, workers were united in spirit and -gratitude, reflecting how God’s faithfulness led this mission to blossom.
Organized in 2004, the mission has been an instrument in spreading the Adventist faith throughout their territory, namely: the province of Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Zamboanga Sibugay, and some municipalities within Zamboanga Del Sur, and Zamboanga Del Norte.
Over the past two decades, ZPM has blossomed into a vibrant force for good. Here are some remarkable milestones:
Church Membership: ZPM now boasts an impressive 75,705 church members—a testament to the power of faith and community.
Churches and Districts: With 362 churches spread across 40 districts, ZPM’s reach extends far and wide.
Education: Twelve elementary church schools and two academies provide quality education to young minds, nurturing both intellect and spirit.
Evangelistic Endeavors: ZPM has been at the forefront of impactful evangelistic campaigns, touching hearts and transforming lives.
Community Outreach: Whether through health initiatives, youth programs, or departmental activities, ZPM leaves a positive imprint on the communities it serves.
Current administrators express profound gratitude for God’s unwavering faithfulness. Their commitment remains resolute—to preach the Three Angel’s messages, prepare hearts for Christ’s imminent return, and model discipleship as Christ did.
As ZPM looks ahead, it remains steadfast in its sacred mission. Hope and light continue to radiate from this corner of the world, touching lives and drawing hearts closer to the Divine.
